After spending time in the field in weeks 4 and 5, it was nice knowing we were going to be spending a week on camp. The troop were very much looking forward to the live firing aspect of this week and learning the basics of map reading ready for Ex Marshal Star.
Quite a relaxed week all in all for 179, starting to get to grips with map reading, IMF was defiantly starting to get harder along with a cheeky 5 mile runs as a troop, during which we started learning how to do the fireman carries necessary for bottomfield. We spent pretty much the whole of the Thursday on the 25m range firing live at figure 11 targets practicing our grouping and again learning to become comfortable with our rifles and practicing our rifle drills. We learnt a lot from this live firing package and looking forward to progressing further.
