168 TROOP WEEKLY DIARIES
This week will long stay in the memory of the Recruits of 168 Tp, as we began Bottom Field crash training. This involved numerous circuits of the assault course combined with fireman’s carries and trips up ropes. There were many emotions and some vomit left on the bottom field after the sessions finished. No doubt we are stronger men as a result, and the proof will be seen at Bottom Field pass out next week.
The rest of the week, when not in lectures, was spent learning how to master the GPMG. This began in the weapon stances and concluded on Friday on the 25 meter range. The learning curve seemed steep, but when we got the opportunity to fire this battle winning weapon there was no shortage of smiles.
With the weekend to recover for the upcoming BPT pass out on Monday and another full week coming up, there was no shortage of ‘heads to zeds’ from all members of 168 Tp.
