164 Troop Week 29

Week 29 was 164 Troop’s first of a 2 week live field firing package. Which we spent on Sennybridge ranges in Wales.

This week consisted of Fire team level and Section level attacks, which the troop performed very well in and also enjoyed very much as it was the first opportunity for the troop to use both marksmanship principles and soldiering tactics together in unison.

The troop also had the opportunity to fire the Under slung Grenade Launcher an attachment for the SA80 assault rifle, whereby the recruit could fire grenades far beyond the feasible throw of a humans arm, another weapon system to add to the recruits arsenal!

The week also allowed those with section responsibilities to practice their man management in a live firing environment, valuable practice for those who enjoy the thrill of leadership.
