165 Troop Training Diary – Week 2
Week 2 of Recruit training has seen us introduced to our Rifles. We were given instructional periods in the weapons stances to teach us about the weapon we will be using for the next 30 weeks. The instruction seems to be progressive but there is much to learn and take onboard.
We have received many sets of inspections by the DL this week in preparation for an inspection, which if we pass, means we get to leave the foundation block. Everyone is working hard and it feels like we are starting to work as a team.
The inspection came on Friday. It was not quite as strict as we expected and the training team gave us lots of helpful hints and tips to make sure our lockers looked good. We were however given a warning that there will be many more inspections in the future.
Over the weekend we had drill and we moved accommodation and we were able to spend a bit of time getting some food in town.
