151 TROOP WEEKLY DIARY – WEEK 30

151 TROOP WEEKLY DIARY – WEEK 30

This week was the week all of training has been preparing us for, the Commando Tests.  With Easter leave falling when it did, we took the tests a week early as not to loose fitness during the break.  Our first test was on the Friday and that was the Endurance Course, that overall the Troop performed very well at and some good times where achieved.  The second of the four tests was the 9 Mile Speed March which the Troop had a 100% pass on.  On the completion of the Speed March we where ‘drummed’ into camp which was a proud moment for all of us.  The third test was the Tarzan Assault Course where again the Troop managed some very good times with Recruit Olds getting the quickest time of the year.  The final test was the most famous test, the Thirty Miler.  This test lived up to its reputation and was very difficult but was more than worth the effort at the end.  We where presented with our Green Berets on completion of the Thirty Miler but handed them back in as we still have one more week of training to complete to fully earn them.
