151 TROOP RECRUIT DIARY – WEEK 31

151 TROOP RECRUIT DIARY – WEEK 31

Over the past week 151 Troop have conducted a series of Troop and Section attacks in Sennybridge.  This is the last week that the Troop has to prove their skills and drills to the Training Team, confirming that we are safe with our personal weapons, explosives and smoke grenades. The Troop was split into 3 sections and each took their own role in each individual attack under direction of the Troop Commander.  This exercise consisted of day and night troop attacks which were lead under the direction of the Training Team.  This was a great experience for the lads and I believe that each recruit enjoyed the week.  The Troop also took a weapons handling test on the N-LAW, a rocket fired weapon, which every recruit passed!

The recruits especially enjoyed the night shoots where they had their first experience of over head fire; this was to acquaint us with how it will feel in real life.  As well as this, on the Tuesday night we took part in a night shoot with the Laser Light Module (LLM), under the safety of the staff and with the use of the NVG’S we were able to shoot at a target 25 meters away in the total darkness.  Once all the hard work was finished we returned to Lympstone, topped of with a Troop meal and night out in Exmouth!  It is clear to see that 151 Troop are very happy with their recent achievements and are looking forward to their King’s Squad Pass-out next week.
