152 TROOP DIARY – WEEK 25

152 TROOP DIARY – WEEK 25

Week 25 took 152 Troop to Poole and Portsmouth for amphibious and sea survival training.  We travelled to Poole on Monday for the amphibious training where we first learned how to right a capsized boat.  For this we had to jump into the sea on what was probably the coldest day of the year so far.  It was a good laugh watching the Troop shout out their names and numbers while in the water, but not quite so funny when it was your turn.  We also conducted beach assault drills and practised cross decking from one craft to another while moving.

The second half of the week was in Portsmouth for sea survival drills and fire fighting on ship.  This saw 152 Troop in the water again, although this was made far more civilised by wearing dry suits.  The week ended with an introductory shoot on the LMG that we had learned the previous week.
