161 Troop Diary – Week 3
Week 3 began with the Troop moving from the foundation block into our new grots, which seemed to go quite smoothly, with the rest of that day mainly sorting our personal administration out. As the week progressed through the days, we have started to notice training getting more intensive, such as; ropes, weapons training, etc. We have also learnt a number of things – from how our lockers are meant to be and how to lay out a kit muster.
On a bad note though, the Troop’s general time keeping and a lack of urgency has been poor all round. We must work hard to improve this quickly. For most of the recruits in the Troop, the transition from civilian to military lifestyle is going alright and we are starting to pick more things up as expected. It was great to end the week with our families, showing them round Lympstone and what we have been up to since starting training. We are looking forward to a much needed weekend at home!
