157 Troop Recruit Diary – Week 9
Monday started with the first gym pass out assessment, the battle fitness test. We all achieved good times as a Troop with nobody failing the run, we then went onto interval drill pass out in which we performed to a high standard without any major mistakes. Tuesday again started with more gym pass out assessments, the RMFA which like Monday, the Troop all obtained good scores and improved from when they first arrived at Lympstone.
Wednesday started with Corps history lectures which would aid us in our second military knowledge test. We then moved into the gym for a mock run through of the gym pass out routine to be carried out on the up coming Friday, the PTI was impressed with the Troop leaving morale high for the actual thing. Thursday mainly consisted of LSW training in preparation for the shooting package at Straight Point at week 11.
On Friday many of the Troop were feeling extremely nervous as it was the day of gym pass out, but after smashing the routine and achieving an overall superior pass the nerves were soon flushed away. We then had a map reading test in preparation for our upcoming exercise ‘Hunters Moon’ in which a lot of navigation will be involved.
