147 Troop Diary – Week 21

147 Troop Diary – Week 21

Monday was Bottom Field Pass Out.  This was the peak of the last 6 weeks since passing out of the gymnasium phase.  This session would supposedly be our easiest yet, with all recruits only requiring to complete 1 x rope climb, 1 x lap of the assault course in under 5 minutes, 1 x 200m fireman’s carry and finishing with a full regain over the tank (all with 21lb and rifle).  This was achievable for all, but some were hoping for a bit of extra luck.

By the end of the session the majority of 147 Troop had been successful, the focus for them became next weeks exercise and more CBRN training.  For those who had not passed, they were entitled to re-runs, fortunately offering a few recruits the second/third chance they required; however unfortunately two were unable to complete the BPT.  The week flew by around us, the Troop managed to relax on Friday and Saturday, before returning to camp for a Remembrance Parade on Sunday.

Sunday morning came about and the whole Troop turned out in immaculate drill rig to pay their respects.  The service was relatively short but very touching – especially for the Troop being new members of the Armed Forces.  After service, the Troop was secured and the time was our own to prepare for week 22.
