150 TROOP WEEKLY DIARY – WEEK 13

150 TROOP WEEKLY DIARY – WEEK 13

The start to the week was pretty steady with Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) equipment fittings and an introduction to CS gas which, was an experience!  This week also saw an introduction to the assault course on the bottom field with Advanced Military Fitness (AMF).  On Tuesday we spent the whole day doing signals training which everyone seemed to enjoy.  We now feel that we are progressing somewhat by taking part in more advanced and technical training.

A signals assessment on Wednesday morning and grenade lectures in the afternoon seemed like a relaxed day compared with the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training in Yeovilton the following day.  Here we had to escape from a helicopter chassis that is submerged under water.  It progresses to an inverted ditching in the pitch black.  The week concluded with another AMF session on the bottom field and live grenade throwing.  It was an exciting week in which we were able to do a lot of interesting and diverse training.
